No matter when or what you buy, there will soon be something newer & better.  I just purchased a Nikon D700 yesterday, so I'm sure the D800 will be announced in a week or so (Actually, rumors have it due in the late Spring or early Summer).  If the camera does what you want, you don't need to wait for the next one.  There will always be a "next one"!
