I have read  that several posters have used standard 110 volt fixtures and "converted" them to 12 volt to use in their rigs for remodeling.  I have not been able to find any info on how to do this.  I would like to replace some of the plain 12 volt fixtures with something more modern and can't seem to find what I want in 12 volt fixtures that are available.  Where do I find this information?

Thanks,

Dennise

What would you like to replace? That could help us narrow things down, a bit,

There are some really nice 12v lights available, but dealers, CW, etc. don't often carry them. They are pricey and they don't want to put the $$ in inventory, I guess.  You can also get 12v bulbs that will screw into standard light bulb sockets, i.e. medium screw or miniature screw bases, making it easy to convert a 120v fixture.

Gustafson is a major manufacturer of 12v lighting fixtures - look online for places that carry that brand.

To do what you want to do, I once gutted a 110V fixture and replaced the innards with 12V bulb sockets and thinner wires. The 12V sockets can be removed from the 12V fixture you're replacing.
