Just purchased my popup camper.  It has gas  AC  and  a DC battery (which is dead and old)  I'm reading the manual, but have a few questions if anyone would like to comment.  I plan on camping out in the woods without a hookup.  Wondered about how long the battery would run the furnace or an electric small heater if needed. ( I believe that's possible)    (unhooked from my truck)        Sorry for the basic questions just want to learn a few thigs.        Thanks for your time    jim

Your standard 12v auto battery will run the ignitor on a gas heater but will deplete quickly on running the fan for a gas heater.
As far as using it to run AC appliances of any kind via an inverter, it's basically worthless for more than a few minutes.

The best best is a deep cycle marine battery or golf cart battery.  Still, they won't hold up very long using them to power an AC inverter.  There's just too much power loss in the conversion of AC to DC.
