Hi,
We're preparing for a singing session using a Sony portable with XP as the player and an amplifier/speaker (which doesn't have anything to do with the problem as far as I can tell - used as a mixer for vocal and backup track) driven off the headphone output.
Apparently at random, the sound (Portable and remote) for the windows media player appears to become disconnected from the speakers (windows beeps, etc. still work).
I've had this happen before in Acid (I'm using the standard windows playe for MIDI's this time), but I don't remember how I fixed it.
** Bulletin** My wife "fixed it", but I have no idea how (nor does she) - embarrassing for a guy who used to know this stuff!
I do suspect it may be because the backups are MIDI's and she played (or tried to play) a CD-R (karaoke) about the time it switched.
Any idea's? or better yet, solution (I'm fairly sure this is easy).
