I just bought an A-liner slide in truck camper. It is a minimalist camper with near zero features.
I like it that way. I'm a fairly "primitive" camper. Anyway my questions:
1.
The brackets for the jacks are very insecure. It attaches via a 2" angle iron lip, that has no fastening whatsoever.
I'm thinking I want it to bolt on, but there isn't a lot of metal on the camper where the jack lip supports the camper.
It's basically a fairly thin 2" aluminum angle piece. I'm thinking of just drilling through jack and camper and installing a bolt.
2.
There is no anchor point for a mount. Right now, I'm just using a nylon rope across the back, but then I have to tie/untie it each time I use the camper, and I'm afraid I will forget, and drive away without tying it down. I'm thinking of only securing it at 2 tie down points attached to the back of the camper, and to the bottom of the back of the bed, where there is a tie-down loop.
I'm not sure how much I need tie downs at the front of the bed.
Comments?
