What are forum members' views on the legendary B vans from the heyday of Bs of the 1970s and 1980s?

- 3 eras of VW Westfalia vans (Bus/Vanagon/Eurovan)
- Airstream B190
- Dodge coachman

Are these things worth fussing with?  They sell cheap and for the price tag of new a few thousand bucks worth of repairs seems economical.
 
There is an active group of VW van owners, who travel around and attend VW events in their Westphalias and Vanagons. They are actually multiple groups, but one of them is http://www.westfalia.org/    Ya gotta be willing to do a lot of work, mechanical and interior, to own one of them, though. Or have very deep pockets to pay for service.  We used to have a active member here with one, George Jannini, but he doesn't come around much anymore.
