I took the same set out of mine and installed a 2 drawer chest and mounter a 32' flatscreen on top

You probably have carpet under there. You can mount the desk to the floor.

I kind of have the same project in mind. I would like to take out the leather couch/hide a bed behind the passenger and replace it with a nice desk with drawers. Should not be too big a deal if I can get the desk through the doorway, and there should be carpet under the couch/hide a bed now. I will hang onto the couch just case we ever sell and the new owner would like the couch instead of the desk.
