We are looking at upgrading to 5th wheel form our current trailer. I saw a site on the Internet for "Americana" RV's adn kinda liked there approach. No dealers, deal direct with the factory, but as they only seem to turn out a couple hundred a years, i have never actually seen one. So, does any one out there have any personal experience with this brand and if so, what do? you think of it.

I don't know anything about Americana but New Horizons does the same sort of thing and they have an excellent reputation. See http://www.horizonsrv.com/
I really like the concept and would go that route if buying a fifith wheel. Wish somebody woud start doing mid-range motorhomes that way - I can't afford to have a Newell built to my specs.
