Ned and I left the Phoenix area this morning but had a great time while we were there.  We stayed at Cotton Lane RV Resort which is very nice, but far from most of our framily in the area.  At Cotton Lane RV Resort we were able to see some Ground Owls that have been on the east side of the park for eight years.  This was the first time that we have seen any kind of owls in the wild which was pretty neat.  While we were there we had several mini-rallies and took pictures at some of them but forgot at one of them.  We got together with the Dobrins and Rick (Orick), but no pictures, sorry.  We had great lunch at Mimi's on Dysart and it was nice to meet Rick.

We had a gathering at Russ Mahoney's place with several Framily members from Happy Trails and again no pictures.  A week later Cousin's had a neighborhood gathering that included a few Framily, picture.  Yesterday we gathered at Archie's Deli for breakfast that included Millers, Lawrences, Sheila Kuch, Russ Mahoney, Phil Bullock, and the Reiters complete with picture.  We also visited with Joe and Ann Lacey that included dinner at Archie's Deli and a picture.  In case you haven't guessed Archie's Deli is a good place to eat with good food and decent prices.  There were a couple of other gatherings at My Favorite Martin's and Archie's but again no pictures.

It was certainly wonderful to see everyone more than once since we won't be back to Arizona next year.  Hope anyone out here will come and visit us at our lot in Texas next winter.  We will be there all winter from the end of September to the following May.  So if you decide to visit us just let us know.

Nice owl picture. Wish we could have made it over there to see them....too many things to do, too little time.

I've never seen ground owls either.  They're cute little guys.  They must live in those pipes??  Nifty!

Glad there have been a bunch of mini-rallies this year!  Good to see everyone....

Mike and Wendy it must have been a long day to North Ranch ;) Boy the weather was great coming down from Goodyear and we arrived at De Anza south of Green Valley early afternoon.  We have a super view of Mt. Wrightson to the east of the park.

Yes the owls live in at least one of those pipes.  The park didn't put those pipes there for the owls, they just took them over which is not uncommon from what I have read about ground owls.

You bet it was - 50 whole miles ! Good thing we got an early start, left El Mirage at 11:30 :) This area is beautiful - saguaros and mountains and blue sky and puffy white clouds. And the park has a Bark Park so Gordon is happy. Life Is Good.
