"Sticky section"

In regards to Johns post about the GNR, what is the "Sticky section" of this thread. I was trying to reply but where?
 
It's the posts immediately above this one (at this moment in time) or the first half a dozen or so posts at the top of this board that are shaded a different color.
 
Messages are listed in time order, newest first. Therefore older messages fall toward the bottom and then off the first page if there are no further replies.  But moderators can make a message thread "sticky", meaning it stays at the front of the list always. As John noted, theyse are designated with a different color background and a "push pin" icon on the left side. They are 'pinned' in place.
