Storage in/near Phoenix, AZ?
« on: April 22, 2011, 09:30:41 AM »
We will need to store our Winnie Adventurer & toad from mid-November to early February in or near Phoenix, preferably as near to Sky Harbor as possible.  I've researched and have seen quite a number, but the locations and rates haven't yet coincided to provide a good deal.

Any recommendations based on recent knowledge?  Thanks. :)

Probably too far away from Sky Harbor for you but we keep ours at Premier RV Storage on Northern and El Mirage in Peoria.  After paying California rates the $128/mo for a 50' covered spot seems good.  They give new customers a deal too so I'm actually only paying $75 for the first few months.

Goodn luck...

Try Tempe RV Storage.  They are about 5 miles south of Sky Harbor and  1/1/2 mile off I-10.

Rick, I looked at Premier but as you say, it's not too near the airport and therefore will cost some bucks for a taxi ride.

Lowell, have you used Tempe?  I did spot them too, but they have no website which always makes it difficult to judge what they're like.

Thanks,

Dougie.

Dougie,
I have used Tempe RV storage for about 6 years and my TT is currently stored there.  The site is behind locked gates.  You could probably use Google Earth to get a view of the web site from above.  Their site is the one along the railroad tracks.

Do you know their rates for a 50-ft outdoor space?

I'll try to find out for you on Monday.  I don't believe the office is open on the weekend.  For my 28 footer, the cost is approximately $650/year and slightly higher if you pay by the month.  I don't know how many 50ft spaces they have open if any at the present.

We use:

A-Secured Self Storage, the one located on Baseline in Mesa
(480) 539-5600
105 E Baseline Rd
Gilbert, AZ 85233

I do not know available spaces nor size but they have covered and uncovered.

They have several different locations in the area.

Dougie,

I called Tempe RV storage and she said they currently have no openings for 50 ft RVs but it changes daily.  I found out they do  have a web site: www.temperv.com

You might do some checking with them as yo get closer to your time frame.

Lowell, that was extremely thoughtful of you, and I appreciate it.  I will keep checking with them.

Dougie,

I called  A-Secured Self Storage and they said if they have space for your motorhome they can get you in.  The car is not a problem as they have lots of spaces for cars if they do not have two 25' in line spaces (50') .  They are willing to work with you so as time gets closer either contact them or ask us again.

I would guess cost would be between $115 and $180/month but....

Ouch - let us help as much as we can.  Local calls are much cheaper  ;D

Also there is a Super Shuttle system that will pick up from location or airport and deliver to either.  I think cheaper then taxi.

Hey, we have used this service http://kiwitaxi.com/ few weeks ago and it was a great experience. Strongly recommended if you still need a taxi
