I know this might sound odd since your MH has a built in genny but I am going to buy a Honda Companion 2000i http://www.hondapowerequipment.com/products/modeldetail.aspx?page=modeldetail§ion=P2GG&modelname=EU2000i%20Companion&modelid=EU2000IKN1 I know buying a $1200 generator seems like a lot considering all the gas you need to burn to get your money back but I am justifying it because I dont have a back up home generator yet and I intend to use this at my house as well.
This unit is really nice because it has a 30amp plug in it that you can connect right to your MH. Just make sure you use this wisely because they are high theft Items. I plan to chain it to a tree a good distance from my rig when I camp places that dont have shore power. Living in GA you need to have your air conditioner on because of high humidity.

I used a Kill-a-watt meter off a heavy duty extension cord to figure out what each thing in my MH pulls for power. My AC unit pulls 1200 watts on high under full load with a jump to 1400 watts when it cycles on. This little Honda should run 5 or six hours on a gallon of gas. To me this justifys the cost of the generator. I also will use my MH generator at rest stops and times when i pull over for lunch. I just like the piece of mind knowing that I dont always have to run up my 7000 watt onan.
Good luck and tell us how it turns out.
