Defrosting our fridge (a Dometic #3863) has always been a pain. Just before bed I accidentally failed to latch the main door completely (just to the point where it didn't click) and woke up to a defrosted fridge! Things could have been cooler inside; but nothing spoiled and it recovered quickly. Make sure you have an outside drain before trying this.
