Usually on a tow dolly set up you would use the magnetic ones for the vehicle. Most tow dollies also have a set of there own, but they don't include the vehicle.

We use the external. Bonus - at night, with the magnetic lights on the trunk of the towed vehicle, you can see the lights working in the back-up camera.
