Mini Rally in Detroit Lakes, MN
« on: July 01, 2011, 11:55:21 AM »
The mini rally, organized by Sheila and Ken Kuch, in Detroit Lakes, MN ended last night with another dinner outing. During the three previous days and nights, get togethers were arranged by the organizers of the rally at local eating and drinking establishments as well as trips to local sporting events. Attendees of the rally found two great local campgrounds and would recommend the Detroit Lakes to any other framily members passing through this part of MN. The only negative comment made by any of the attendees was that the organizers didn't take, or post, any pictures on this site, but a good time was had by all.

Happy trails, Ken and Sheila, until we meet again.

Randy,

How could we organize it when you we there first - we just barged in on your fun! Great to see you two again, it was fun.

Who knows as we head back west in late August or early September we may cross paths again (NOW DON'T GO HIDE!)

Who got here first had nothing to do with all of the planning and organization that went into such a successful rally. You are again to be commended on a job well done and I truly look forward to attending future events that you put together. You really know how to throw a party, even if you can't hear all of the fun that the participants are having.

How come we didn't know about the rally?  ???   We're at Royal Oaks RV Park in Bemidji, came to see the Headwaters of the Mississippi River, and of course Paul Bunyan. Will pass through Detroit Lakes on the way to South Dakota after Independence Day.

It's a good idea to post where you are when getting together, even if just two rigs (a "micro rally"). Ya never know who else might be near by and want to join in.

Actually, RedT, it was a very small rally attended by people who spend winters in AZ and have either Monaco or ALFA motorhomes and tow Jeeps. But since the Monaco has left, we can plan another rally for owners of ALFA and Itasca motor homes who tow Jeeps. We're at the Forest Hills Golf and RV Resort in Detroit Lakes. If you'd like to meet as you pass through, another rally will  be born. It'll probably be the same size as the last one.

Rallies such as this are formed on the spur-of-the-moment.  Some of our other rallies, such as the one at Moab in the spring, are actually planned ahead of time and people sign up in the thread where it's announced.  Keep an eye on the board called Rallies, Shows, and Events.  Another way is to use the "unread posts" feature so that only new posts come up when you log in.  That way these spur-of-the-moment rallies will be in your list of unread threads.
