I just found this at a local surplus store. I'm asking for the electricians on the forum to give me their opinion on material and price, seems cheap enough but then sometimes I invent a bargain just to buy something. I Appreciate your input, they only have 5000 ft available.    6/4 SOOW Neoprene-Jacketed Power Cable , Your Price: $3.26/ft

That is just the normal price for that type of cable.

http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&productId=202206510&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=202206510&cm_mmc=shopping-_-googlebase-_-D27X-_-202206510&locStoreNum=901

And if that store really did get it surplus for pennies on the dollar, shame on them for selling it at full retail..

But you know with 5000 feet of cable the voltage drop would be horrific. ;D

There would be no drop if you suspended it in the middle.  Whatever it took going up would be regained going down. ::)
