The dw and I just returned from a very relaxing weekend at a little National Park campground just south of Truckee, Ca. right on Highway 89 next to the Truckee River. Nice little campground, but no hookups. It would be an excellent place to spend a night or two on the way east or west on I-80 through the Sierras. While sitting around in lawn chairs at our site we noticed a couple of little striped ground squirrels zipping back and forth looking for food. The dw had some Walmart animal cookies left over from the grandkids and threw one on the ground. It seems that grandkids are not the only ones who like animal cookies. As I was looking at the river, my wife said, "look at this"...One of the squirrels had actually jumped up into her lap and was sitting on her sweatshirted arm. I didn't have my camera out then, but got this shot a little later.
