1995 JayCo 1207 Hitch Issue - help??

HI! I'm a noob!!!

We have a 1207 with a hitch assembly that doesn't seem to easily want to release from the receiver hitch when we reach our destination. When we pull up the release lever, it doesn't seem to release without us having to raise the PUP all the way up and pull forward with the truck. Is there a way to replace this lever, or would we have to replace the entire assembly?

My pop-up used to do the same thing and my current TT does it on occasion. If you look up into where the tounge slips onto the ball there should be a screw that adjusts the tension. If not usually all it is is that the trailer is unlevel. Chock the wheels and start to barely raise the trailer. Then a little shaking of the tounge will pop it loose.
