We traveled all of last year, and several trips this year, powering our Garmin, Tiretraker, and toad brake monitor with a three prong adapter that we plugged into the 12 volt receptacle on the dash board.
On the way home last weekend, the power suddenly went out on all three of them. I traced it to a blown fuse in the fuse bank in the bay next to the driver side front tire. Replaced the fuse, but still wouldn't power accessories. Discovered that the built in fuse on the adapter had also blown. Replaced the fuse again (outside) and plugged in the Garmin directly in to the dash board receptacle. The Garmin came on for a few seconds, and then the fuse blew in the bay again. There is obviously a problem somewhere. Any ideas? Do I have to tear the dash apart to check something? Is there a short from the in-dash plug in to the fuse in the bay?
Thanks in advance for any comments.
