Re: Taoshum's comment - Just one example: when or if we reach 60 Billion... if each uses 250 kw-hr of electricity/month... this requires a generation capacity of 15,000,000 giga-watt/hrs. This is 3000-4000 times what we have today. If it were all PV solar, we'd need to cover a land area of 4,000 miles by 4,000 miles... 16 million square miles. Kinda like covering the Pacific Ocean.
Part of - not all but a nice chunk, of this can be provided by Solar Panel Paved Roads - there is a great You Tube article on it - check it out here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ep4L18zOEYI Maybe not ready yet but just think of the possibilities - the solar roads could actually power your solar automobile without burning any fossil fuels or environmental damage. Of course, they'd have to re-pave all the roads in the US but think of how many miles of just interstate there are. The solar power generated in Florida or Texas alone would be tremendous. Anyway, as times change, so do inventions and progress. There will always be people looking to solve that next great problem - problems we hadn't anticipated yet. That's why education is the key - and not the education our kids are getting today. Real education where they actually learn how to read and learn math and science - gee - what a concept!
