Recently acquired a 2000 Lance 10-10 for my 2004 F350 CrewCab.  When the camper is off, AM radio is fine; when the lance is on, AM radio reception is terrible with lots of static if other electric motors, cell phone charger, trailer brakes are engaged.  Do I need an ignition filter for the radio (+) feed or a remote antena on the TC

Also, the AM radio reception in the camper is crummy too.

Any ideas besides stop listening to AM and get SIRUS?

Thanks!

AM Radio and CB radios are subject to ignition/alternator static, the radio in your truck is likely internally filtered. You can go to Radio Shack and by a 12v radio noise filter for the camper radio. It's a simple matter of putting it in line on the (+) and (-) wires for the radio.

yep, there is a solar panel.  But it sounds like the Radio Shack filter should take care of it?

Thanks for the responses so far...

If you can identify what's making the noise (converter and/or solar panel controller), put the noise suppressor at the source so the noise doesn't travel through wiring that can act as antenna before reaching the suppressor.
