I'm sure many of you are already aware of this neat little trick.  I thought I would share it though, just the same.

We went tailgating this weekend to watch some college football.  Parking is a paved parking lot.  Obviously there are no hook ups.  Power came from the on board Onan.  I put a rubber backed carpeted mat directly under the generator and noticed it was much quieter than without.  A lot of the sound that bounces off of the pavement is obsorbe by the mat.  I'm not sure where I heard about it, but it sure does work.
 
You also isolated the mechanical noise from the floor. Good tip, cheap too. ;D
