We have been enjoying ourselves doing nothing but watching arrivals line up at Indio.

Tonight 15 of us met at Tony Roma's to celebrate Mike and Wendy Lawrences' birthdays. (Toady was not there birthdays but their coupons at TR's are good for the month.) The Lawrences, Downs, Wiemerts, Kuchs, Brewers, Fitzgeralds, Dorins, and I had a great time. Betty surprised Terry by showing up at the restaurant a day early when she heard where we were dining. (She really got bored in Yuma.)

Missing from the photo are Ken and Sheila Kuch who had walked out before I realized no one had recorded the dinner for posterity.

Jeff,

er uh, I was not bored in Yuma,I just simply missed my wonderful husband so much!  I loved  dining at Tony Roma's with the  group.  The dinner was excellent, service wonderful  and then  dang Mike and Wendy caught that  my wine was on their bill. Sore birthday losers!
Thanks Jeff for the photo!

I figured they charged us BOTH for 2 glasses ! I'll bring a bottle of 2-buck to Happy Hour tomorrow and fill up your glass.....shoot, we can get 3 glasses for $2 instead of the $15 we paid for 3 glasses at Tony Roma's ! Of course, no one to cook and serve us dinner :(

Wendy

Hi guys and girls.

First of all Happy Birthdays Mike and Wendy. If we would have known that this was a free invitational dinner we sure would have been there.
We arrived late  this afternoon in Bakersfield. Have to make a "quick" stop at cummins to morrow morning and then on our way to Indio. Hope to get there in the afternoon.
Betty that was very thoughtfull of you to arrive there early. There are a lot of single men who need to be taking care for.

See you tomorrow.

chris and mimi.

Participants are taking full advantage of all that this rally has to offer.  We toured coach exhibits yesterday.  Not much new  that  attracts my fancy  and lots of used rigs for a  pretty good deal , if you want something different.

Then lots of us gathered for Happy hour Between Ken and Sheila's rig and Terry and Betty's rig. Orange lot row 2.  This year parking  left LOTS of space between our rigs.  In fact Chris Pennings  thought he might just move his motor home over to the spot to be closer to the  rowdy crowd. After  a quick dinner several of us rushed off to play  Bingo.  Winning games were $250 and the blackout was  $500.  Jerry F won and so did Rolf but they had to share the pot with several winners.  Jerry said he got just over $50.  Not bad for an evening out !

My new pedometer said I took 11,589 steps yesterday.  I don't take the trams.

Commercial exhibits open today.  Jeff and I will go to Trader Joes to get important things. Over and out.

Is Happy Hour tonight in the Orange lot ? Before or after the parade?

I'm off for a quick look at the exhibits then a seminar on Professional Secrets for Cleaning....not that I want to clean :)

Wendy

After 3 days of calling, my Service Coordinator Liz and I finally got through to Flowmaster about my custom drive-shaft and "Remco" disconnect; so, it turns out that in addition to being closed Christmas week it would be 10-14 days before we would see one here. That means it will be Mon at the earliest to Thursday of QZ before I could test and then hook up the Nismo and head for QZ :( Bummer!

I called FMCA and canceled Indio.  :'(

Bob, just leave the towed in Tucson and take the motorhome to Indio, or QZ for that matter.  Go back to Tucson when the car is ready.

Wendy,
We need to have our chairs set out on the Parade around 3:30 if you want to get a side that does not face the sun. So my guess is a quick Happy hour after the parade.  So many things to do , so little time for dinner!  Whoooo whooooo.

Thursday was the first day of shopping at the commercial exhibits, the rally chapter parade, and of course the Forum Happy hour. ;D

Indio without doubt has the best parade of any rallies we have attended and the various chapters seem to up the bar every year.

Another day of beautiful weather and leisurely browsing with Ken K the day's winner on shopping.

Happy hour was a quiet gathering until Ray and Liza Down demonstrated their latest discovery, Happy Bowls! (I'll leave their purpose to your imagination.)

Several went to entertainment tonight and a few stopped by the Penning's coach after Chris invited us over for ice cream. Unfortunately they didn't have any!

However Chris pours a mean glass of Kendall Jackson Chardonnay!

Jeff is right, the  day was beautiful.  I  bought a Grill it and  tried it out for lunch.  I  showed "the girls" the results at Happy Hour tonight.  Terry said I would never use the device but tonight proves I  will use it at least once.  I think it a good alternative to an outside bar b que for  vegetables, fish and chicken. I have every other item they sell at this rally having attended for each of the past  15 years ( minus one when we traveled to Mexico)  Fun times to meet up with long time friends.  Great entertainment tonight.  Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, Reba MacIntire, and Roy Orbison wanna bees.  I knew the words to most of the songs.

It sounded like everyone was having a great time when I received a phone call around happy hour  ;D
