Kudos Paul, none of us would want to trade any of our Service for a socialist type of existence, all of us Americans have fought for (or have supported Freedom) that's who we are.
 
Sorry for the double post...

But did not go far enough for the Veterans Day spirit.  Thank you all that have served, thank you my brothers and sisters.  We went into the unknown, worked, played, fought and cried, we were there.... Keep fighting Americans, we hopefully will prevail over the worlds communist and evil that attempts to prevail over our living Constitution.

retusn...you're not following me are you?  I spent time in Memphis (of course) in '60-'61 and again in '63-'65, hit Atsugi in '62, Whidbey Is. in '62-63, China Lake in '65-'66 and A6's in '67-'68.

Capt, USAF (JAG), 1994-2000.  10 years in the private sector and now I'm an Army civilian attorney.  In Kuwait right now for a few months, then headed to Afghanistan for 6 mos. next year, which will hopefully provide the finances to become an RV owner.  ;D

Didn't know you worked on the F4. One of my favorite planes of all time. Thought you might enjoy this photo I took back in '08 during a Blue Angels show at Kennedy Space Center.

U. S. Army:

1981-1985, Electronic Warfare, signal intelligence ops in Berlin before the wall went down.

O my the memories... Flat out, F4, my favorite ever.  I remember when the top speed was not listed (most probably would have torn the airframe apart).  I was stationed at Kaneohe Bay, 84'-87'.  Came close to the back seat ride, requested for my re-enlistment... real close, like that week then someone got wind of it and no-go :mad:.  Had a few friends on the VMFA side, I was over attached to 2/3 in 3rd Combat Engineers.
 
Wow, the memory's!!  I worked on the F-4N and F-4J on the Midway,VF-161  from 74 to 78.  The J-79 engine was the best.  I did maintenance turns almost exclusively for 2 years. My favorite turn was what I called the explosion test.  This test was to check for weak turbine blades.  Quite simply if you spit blades out the back it failed.  I would do a high power turn. A guy in the back seat pulled the CB for the afterburner fuel control as I moved the throttle to the afterburner detent.  At the count of ten he would reset the CB.  Boom!!--ten seconds of fuel @1800gpm would ignite.  I never did fail an engine.
