Hanscom Field, Ma... has a VERY nice DOD Famcamp RV park.  :)

Near the MTA "Red Line" for seeing Boston sites. Minute Man NP is near by too.

USN Jan '66 to Nov '69.
Was in Philippines at Subic Bay, Oct '66 in transit company waiting for ship ( USS Oriskany CVA 34) when it had the magnesium flare fire  ( 44 people died ). After emergency repairs/cleanup we came right back to states for emergency yard period. Did two cruises on the Mighty O and got out Nov. '69.  When we got back to the Tonkin Gulf after the fire repairs we were near the Forrestal when she had her bad fire, a bout 130 or so died there.  Ships especially fighting ships can be a very dangerous, but still not like someone  shooting at you 24/7.  The guys in country were the real ones at risk.
Thanks to all who served.

Incredibly heartwarming to see so many active duty and retired veterans from all branches of our military (and their families) posting on here.

My husband served, active duty, 20 years in the U.S Navy, 1987-2007, Damage Controlman, DC1, E6 (SW)
USS Ingraham FFG-61, Everett, WA (his last command before retirement)

A few of his other commands include:

USS Peleliu LHA-5 (San Diego, CA)
USS Proteus AS-19 (Guam)
Los Alamos AFDB-7 (Scotland) (his first command, home-ported in Scotland...where he met me  :D)

Our youngest son enlisted in the U.S Navy July, 2015 and is currently stationed at Lemoore NAS, CA (Aviation Machinist's Mate/AD, E3)

Retired from active duty 1 December last year with 31 years.
Semi-retired but working towards full retirement in the next year or so.
Still no replacement motorhome yet but working towards that goal. Can't wait to travel around and see some of this great country we live in.

Me and the Chief, Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, 2014.  Chief was passing through on his way home for R&R.  He left his ballistic vest and helmet with me for safekeeping while he was stateside.  I was praying that he actually came back from R&R, so I didn't have to do the paperwork to get rid of Government equipment.  ;D  Good times and a good man.

Navy 1974-1978

USS Haddo SSN-604 1975-1978 (nuclear submarine)

Reported aboard in Pascagoula Mississippi as she came out of the shipyards after reactor refueling. Home ported in San Diego.

Fondest memory was traversing the Panama Canal. Not too many subs go through the canal and it was a spectacle for everyone on land watching us.
