Came through Moab yesterday on our way home from Salt Lake City. Lots of fun road construction -

I-70 - between Green River and US 191 (Moab road) they are doing serious construction on the eastbound lanes. They're removing the asphalt in the left lane and have traffic moved all the way over onto the emergency parking lane with rough pavement and a slope off the road.

US 191 - about 20 miles north of Moab they are working on the road and have it down to one lane for about 5 miles with a pilot car taking groups through one direction at a time.

US 666/491 - from just south of Monticello to the Colorado/Utah border, they're doing construction and have the big orange barrels right on the edge of both the north and south bound lanes. No room to manuever.

We took some pictures, will ask Mike to post tonight. Looks like the route up from Monument Valley/Kayenta is the best way in.

Enjoy!!!

How about the construction in downtown Moab?

They've finished the section in the north part of town but haven't started yet on the section in front of City Market. Maybe they're waiting for us to get there so we won't feel deprived of the joy of driving through the middle of Moab in a motorhome with road confusion going on.

After going through the other 3 construction zones, a few blocks of construction and traffic jams in downtown Moab would have just been the icing on the cake.

We can always detour over to 500 W and miss most of downtown.
