RV Parks close to Progreso, Mexico
« on: February 09, 2012, 10:34:55 PM »
We are making plans to head to the Weslaco, Texas area and will need to stay there a bit due to some dental work I will be having "across the border."  We have heard tales that unless we own one of the high dollar rigs we will not be allowed to stay in the RV parks.  Can someone please given us information about this?  We previously owned a '99 Fleetwood Flair (loved it!) but had to sell it back in 2010 due to major health issues.  We are now in the market but what we can afford will be something similar/same approx. age to what we had previously.

Not true, we just spent a week in the that area (Pharr) and many of the parks are far from full.  They will take your business.

We've been to Progresso Nuevo and much prefer Algondones for dental and optical needs, but that may be too far for you to travel.

Try Fun N Sun in San Benito right around the corner from First Colony. Over 55 park with older but nice layout. Activities usully wind down about now so space should not be a problem. It's also real convenient to the F.M. road that leads to Progresso with no traffic.
