Hi all:

We arrived at Capitol Reef National Park and Torrey, Utah yesterday.  Joel & Camille Myers, Terry & Betty Brewer, Ned & Lorna Reiter, Ron & Shirley Marabito, Ken and Sheila Kuch, Richard & Linda Sharp, Russ Mahoney and friends of Ken & Sheila are present.

We drove into the park Visitor Center this morning to see slide show and pick up maps & literature.  Temperatures are cooler than Moab.  The bulk of us did places on the Park Loop Road today and did some hiking also.

I have posted some shots for you to see something of the country.  The first shot is during our trip to Torrey from Moab showing the coaches that went the scenic route.  The second shot is the Glen Canyon area and the upper end of Lake Powell.  Third shot is a piece of metal sculpture in Hanksville.  Fourth is a heard of Mule Deer near the Visitor Center.  #5 is a wonderful old Cottonwood Tree. The balance of the shots are from the Grand Wash and show the Narrows.  A place you would not want to be during a rain.

I believe Terry Brewer will be posting some more shots today.

Sorry Bernie.  Didn't mean to leave you out.  Senior moment.  I apologize.

Being parked right behind you I must be in your mirrors' blind spot  ;) ;)

I know where we're going before Alaska next year!

Tom

>>? Alaska next year!<<

Sorry....I am afraid it will all be used up after our visit this year.<G>

Hi Terry,

You could come with us next year and show us the ropes  ;D

Tom:

We are planning on Alaska next year after Moab and Capitol as well.

Jeff,

That's maybe 5 couples, unless the Brewers want to lead, in which case it would be 6  ;D  I suspect we can pick up a few more between now and then.

Just ordered the 2006 edition of the Milepost so we can do some preliminary planning (we don't plan, but I like to know what to expect).

Tom

Love to....but It's Betty's year to plan.<G>

You want somebody reading the milepost just about every step of the way, so you can tell what you are seeing along the road. It's a complete tour guide - not just a list of fuel stations and campgrounds.
