Some stores have already cut prices on the iPad 2.  Best Buy dropped it $50.  It's still overpriced :)
 
Yes, iPad2 will come down in price some.

Yes, iPad3 will be an improvement, how much depends on your personal priorities.

Is it over priced? That is personal opinion, we paid full price for our iPad1 and never have regretted it. I have tried many Android tablets and haven't found any that I would be happy with. Having the Apple cloud supported by our iPad, iPhone and Mac's makes for very nice/smooth integration.

Probably a day 1 purchase for me if the rumors of a retina display and quad core processor hold true. I don't think they're overpriced, if you look at other "similar" tablets there around the same price point. The nice thing with Apple is when dealing with proprietary hardware everything just "works" and works really well  ;)
