Start opening lower cabinets and look.  I have seen them tucked under the refer inside of a cabinet with no ventilation. so that would be my first guess.  Next, look for your fuse panel.  The converter is probably behind that.

I had a late 70s model camper a few years ago. The converter was under the sink, of all places. I guess they didn't know about the whole water and electricity don't mix thing back then...lol. You might want to try there, you never know.

I've seen a lot of them behind metal grills with two 1/4 twist fasteners.

Try plugging into shore power, turn on all the lights and anything else that's 12 volts, then listen for a hum or a fan.

Mine is in the cabinet you step on to get up to the bed.  Most older campers have their water tanks here, but I have an in-floor tank...or below floor tank, and my convertor is on the side nearest the fridge (and in my case) about 8" to a foot above my water tank.  Mine happens to be in the open and easy to work on if ever needed, but in my last camper it was in the cabinet under the sink.
