The tires involved is for a very heavy coach or truck, so few  here are likely to have it.

This is the recall letter...

NHTSA Campaign ID Number: 12T009
Synopsis:
Michelin North America, Inc. (Michelin) is recalling certain Michelin XZU3 LRJ, size 305/85R22.5, and Michelin XZU2 LRJ, size 12R22.5, tires produced between October 23, 2005, and September 3, 2011; and Michelin XM505 LRJ, size 305/85R22.5, tires produced between April 18, 2010, and May 8, 2010, and January 23, 2011, and February 12, 2011. These tires have a casing that may experience a loss of integrity and, in some cases, have rapid air loss. Rapid air loss of the tire while the vehicle is in use, could result in a vehicle crash. Michelin will provide information to customers on how to obtain replacement tires. The safety recall is expected to begin on or about April 30, 2012.

Check the size first - that's the easiest thing to do. These are high aspect ratio tires - "85" rather than the more common "80" or "75" profile (a 12R22.5 is equivalent to an 85) and therefore very tall. And only the very largest rigs will have 305 mm or 12" width tires. While I would never say "never", odds are very slim that anybody here has a 85 ratio tire and only a few will have 305's.

Good Morning All.

The recall is for 3 Transit bus tires, the xzu2, the xzu3 and a prototype MX505.  This will not effect most of you unless you were sold the wrong tires for your RV by a Tire Dealer.  Most of you will run a version of the XZA line.  The XZA2 Energy, XZA3+ or The XZE2 or XRV Tires.  The issue with the recall tires is a end of life casing issue and shows up after the casing has been retreaded.

Thanks for posting that Mike, much appreciated.
