During April and May, we are trying to visit all of the Corps of Engineers( COE ) campground parks in Mississippi.  The dish is on the roof, so tall trees are making for  a difficult location to get reception.  Yesterday a fellow camper told me how he uses  __Dish for My RV _ to see if a site has reception.  In the campground that we came into today had only 1 site with a hole in the trees with a view of the sat.  I think it only works the Apple I phone.

Hi Bill
That is an excellent application.  You are right that it only works on iPhone type systems.
It is called dish pointer and there is  a demonstration on
www.dishpointer.com
I wish it would work on my Blackberry, but no dice.
Requirements: Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch (4th generation), iPad 2 Wi-Fi, iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G, iPad (3rd generation) and iPad Wi-Fi + 4G.Requires iOS 3.1 or later
Hope this helps
Dave

If you have a android based phone: Satellite Director works well as a free app, or DishPointer Pro is awesome....developed by DP tech (same people that makes most of Dish networks LNB's) however, it costs 19.99. Both are on the Play Store (market)
