San Diego to Yorktown VA - and back

In our 2003 Brave 32V. Trip out was h**l, 45+ cross winds, sand storms, wind storms, hail, etc, etc. Went out I8, I10, to Houston, New Orleans, Pensacola, I 85 to VA.  Nicest stops by a long way were French Quarter RV park in downtown New Orleans and Butterfield RV park in Benson  AZ, others were good, a couple we would like to forget. On the way  back I85, I20, I10, I8,  perfect weather, all good overnight stops. For anyone coming over I8 to San Diego - 17 miles at 4000 feet plus, plan for a long, slow accent, and not much of a decent due to winding road, border patrol stops, and lot of of local traffic as you get close to SD.
