Well, we are finally ready to pull out for the summer. We should have left earlier to avoid these 100?+ days, but too many commitments.

We'll spend the next couple of nites in Indio then probably overnite at the Harris Ranch in Coalingua and head over to US 101 for a nite or two at a winery near Ukiah. Hopefully the Lynchs will be home and we can meet up with them. Then slowly on north to Coos Bay on the 19th for the NWA FMCA rally. No plans from there tho we have some extended freebies in Newport and in the Sandpoint/Coeur d'alene area. As long as it is cool 8)

Thanks for the offer. If we will be passing reasonably close, I'll try and remember to contact you.

Hi Bernie and Marlene,

Lynches are home, let us know when you get near.  We really would like to see you and "catch up" on things.

Jan and Tim

Good for you! Have a great trip. (P.S., I forget what "100 degrees" feels like. It's (still) mostly cold and rainy up here in the Gorge.)

Bernie, while coming up the coast the weather was beautiful. Since we arrived it Coburg last Sunday it has rained almost every day. Hopefully by the end of next week we will be back on the coast.

We hope it stays that way also, we don't plan to get to the coast till next Monday.

Bernie,

We are in Caldwell, ID and on our way across I-84 and then into Lincoln City on Saturday. We had to wait for our new coach to catch up to us!

Should be in Lincoln City for a month or more, and moping all about Oregon.

Hope to see you and Marlene somewhere along the way!

Kim,

We are in Coburg, OR at Monaco. When done with service here (waiting for a part) we are headed back to the coast at Winchester Bay then heading north. Hopefully we will get to see you and your new coach in a few weeks.

Where are you planning to stay in Lincoln. Last time we were there we stayed south of town at the Elks campground.

We're probably 3-4 weeks or more away from Lincoln City. Will let you know when we get closer.

We finally reached Coos Bay today. After 3 110? days in Indio we moved up to Santa Rosa and spent a couple of great days with the Lynches. Sorry no pictures so it wasn't officially a mini-rally.

Our next stop was Arcata at the Blue Lake Casino. Arcata was having an oyster festival last Saturday and the Casino had an Oyster Ball to kick it off. $15 tickets (paid for by the casino players' club sign up parlayed up to enough to buy the tickets) bought all you could eat oysters, clams, mussells and smoked scallops and salmon. By the time we staggered out, I was all oystered out and we bypassed the festival.

Temperatures have dropped considerably since Indio and we've been seeing 60-70? daytime temps. The lower temperatures were great for biking around Crescent City, our next stop. One of our favorite campgrounds is Shoreline RV Park, owned by the city. It is nothing to look at and has no amenities, but parked in the first row 50' from the ocean with the harbor on the left and the light house on the right and open ocean in between gives a view that is priceless. We also discovered the Rumiano Cheese Factory, terrific cheeses and fresh cheese curds for less than $1/lb. Crescent City also has the Marine Mammal Center which rehabilitates injured seals and sea lions. A new patient is a stellar sea lion.

The drive up US101 today was kind of interesting with about 1/2 dozen lane collapses under repair from winter/spring weather and slides. We stopped by the casino where the FMCA NWA rally will be and found out that it is almost a sellout, 488 coaches signed up so far. Should be fun. Hope it warms up some so I can get more biking in. Anyone else in the neighborhood?
