The new (2015) Jeeps are a LOT more comfortable and they're a LOT quieter, compared to the 2003 I had, making them much better for on-road, while giving up little in off-roading, for my purposes. And with the 4 door you just about double your storage, or you add a little storage while making the back seats available to sit in. And that's while giving up only a very little bit in clearance for off-road, mostly related to high centering (all else being equal, which it rarely is). For those of us who aren't extremely deep into off-roading (mine is stock, and likely to stay that way -- I don't rock crawl, etc.), it's a BIG plus, overall.

Well after melting off two sets of Mopar Rubicon decals on the the hood of the Jeep while pulling it behind the DP, I finally decided to try an after market set.  May not be any different, but at least they were only about $20.  The factory sets usually lasted between 2 and 3 years.  The last set I took off and had no decal for over a year.  This set has the red outline that matches the red accents in the DP paint job!

Looked over this entire 9 page thread. Some very very nice rides on here! (loved the convertible Jeepster!)  But it is really shy on Ford products.. To that end I present my off roader and my tow rig.

This was just a short day trip my wife and I took to a local lake.

We are indeed starting to see more four doors everyday. I have heard many of the ladies state that they wanted them for more comfort and more room.

Space and comfort were a big selling point around my rig also.  Now that we have put 5k miles on it
we both think we made the right decision.

those of you with the 4-door JEEPs
how much is your actual gvw roughly?
I see curb weight listed on teh jeep site, but I'm not seeing GVWR

I've been starting to think about getting a JEEP.  Love the ides and would really like to have one of the smaller 2-door.... but I need room for 3 kids in the back seat...

just wondering/dreaming...

Room for three kids will require a four door.
X2 - BTW my manual says the GCWR is 9200 and the GTW is 3500.  I don't know it that helps.

I just had my 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 3.5" lift, 35" tires, fully armored full fuel and no passengers or driver weighed at the Cat Scales and it was....5560 lbs.

The one site on the web that gave me a figure was 5400 lbs. for a Wrangler Sahara Unlimited, stock. So Terry's actual weight figure seems likely to be the ballpark for most Unlimiteds (4-doors).

I have yet to figure out how to put up a picture on this site. Now you have to click this to see but anyway here is what we were doing last weekend in my little old 2 door TJ.

Bill, is your Adventurer set up to tow more than 5,000 lbs.  Pretty sure my Aerbus is not.  When I started looking at Jeeps I was pretty sure the GVW would only be about 4,200 lbs.  Now I can see the Willys getting to 5,000+ lbs with minimal add ons.  Steel bumper, winch, a tank of fuel, the DW and myself will likely top 5,100 lbs.

Others with gassers, any issues with the heavy Jeep?

Great photo.

See here.
I did all of those things to attach but my picture is only 600kb and still too big. That is not a very large file size yet this forum only allows 250.    :(

I posted here about a year ago. A couple of days ago, the Jeep was transformed. For reference, I included a photo from last year. Note how shiny and er plain it looked. Now it's got a lot more character and some dirt and Arizona pin stripes, too.
