Tow popup with bike hitch rack?

We found a company that makes a trailer hitch bike rack with an extention that puts a towing ball back further about a foot or so. It allows us to have bikes behind our vehicle while wie tow our pop up. http://www.hidden-hitches.com/bike_racks.htm

My question: is this safe? Anyone have experience with such an arrangement?

Son used a 4 Bike Rack, the same as shown in the pic, for 3 years and pulled a po-up to the BMX
bike races before I started going to them  in the MH  He had no problem whatsoever.
 
However he did use an extention for the hitch.  I just fond this out today.
