Thank you, Jim, however, I was referring to the Forum rally at Quartzite. Is it the same week?

Thanks,

The Forum rally is the same week as the big show. Some come early, some stay late, all have fun.

I would love to attend this rally but not sure if I can do one in January due to basketball. I have a coaches meeting tonight so hopefully I'll get the schedule tonight to see if I will be able to make the Quartzite Rally.

Quartzite has rules? Way too civilized!
But then its only 2 rules and there both reasonable. The nice thing about waring a name tag is that then I know who I am!

Actually there are THREE rules -

Rule #1 - Wear your name badge (so you know who you are)

Rule #2 - Wear your damn name badge (so we know who you belong to and where to take you home if you get lost)

Rule #3 - No animals at food events - we don't want to share any of the food :)

Oh, wait, don't forget the BLM rules - Dogs on leash, pick up after them, generator hours 7am-11pm, only drive on established roads, speed limit 5 mph.

And the Quartzsite city rules - DO NOT PARK ON THE ROADWAY. They have to make 12 months of traffic ticket money in only 2 months and they do love to ticket illegally parked cars.

And the Forum Rally FIRST RULE - Have Fun !

Curious,

Would it be possible for a forum member to drop by with out being part of the rally to just get an idea of what goes on for a few hours. I would like to check out campers at the show.

Any rules for this rally?? 8)

It certainly would be possible -- in fact you'd be very welcome.  Drop in for an hour, for a day, for a week -- your choice. If you're going to do that, you may wish to drop in around happy hour (4 PM, normally, though some people often hang around for a couple of hours or more), or around coffee time first thing in the morning (usually 7:00 or 7:30 AM), just to be sure people are around and about. Also, this thread will likely contain a listing of any planned activities (sometimes planned the day before), so check it to see what's going on.

As to rules, see Wendy's post above for the three rules. Of course the BLM rules apply since we're on their land, but there's not much that would apply to you for an hour or two.

Camper Al -

You're certainly welcome to come for a couple of hours or more.  You'll have to enter the LTVA past the entrance station, but that's not a problem.  Just drive in and if anyone asks (they probably won't) tell them you're visiting friends for the day.   The LTVA across the road is more strict about entry permits, but that's because they have the water and dump stations and they're trying to stop freeloaders from using them.

Everyone is welcome at the Quartzsite and for as long as they want to visit. The Happy Hour suggestion is a good one. When there's food and drinks, you'll always find folks around. As for rules, there are only 3 :
1. Wear a name badge.
2. Wear a damn name badge.
3. No pets at food functions.

We sometimes make up more rules as we go along except they're usually not rules, they're more like guidelines :)

Hope to see you at Q.

Greetings,

Thanks for the invite and I'll attempt to make it there.  I have some things that tie me down but I try to attend the Tucson Gem and Mineral show each year. Heading out a little early to see the Quartzite gathering would be very nice and good to meet forum members!

The Tucson Gem & Mineral show started after the QZ show, which I believe is the oldest, if not one of them. You will be very impressed with the work shown at the QZ show.

This rally and show sounds exciting and I know it will be impressive. Hoping to visit there with everyone. If we show up, will be in a van as I am still looking for an RV to buy. Will have to secure a motel to return to for the evening. Hopefully that is an option. We've camped out in the Van before.  Best to all!

The  few motel rooms do book up early as the vendors stay in them. I would call right away for a reservation.  Blythe is the closest city other than  Q for  motels.  It is about an hours drive from the G gathering place.
