I just bought a 1995 C30911FR 3000. It is rated for use at -40. We wanted to use it at a local ski hill so it was good for us. It looks great. I would think the only bad thing about them is that they are heavy.

I thought I heard him (salesman) say 3,485 or at least 3,4?? pounds.

The "one ton" designation is a very old term once used to describe a truck and I don't think it really means a 2000 lbs load any more. You really have to look up the real cargo or load capacity of the given vehicle as shown in the owners manual or truck specs for a vehicle with the options you have.
