Devils tower to Custer. Cloudy and over cast this morning the tower looks green in this light. Took Rt. 16
South toward Custer. Had enought freeways for a while. Stopped in Upton at a little dinner for breakfast.
( Remmy's ) good food. Rt. 16 through Black Hills National Forest, 25 mph speed limet, 7 percent grade up
And back down , sharp curves DW was white knuckling the grab bar all the way. Scenery was beautiful.
Stay at Custers Gulch just outside state park, nice site, clean hot showers. $30 a nite. $55 a day rental car
Unlimited mileage pass to state park and parking at Rushmore.
Tee shirt shopping and dinner in town. Tomorrow the burros CG host says it's ok to feed them, suggests
Carrots or popcorn. We have crackers as Seajay suggested earlier. Than on to Iron Mt. Road and Mt.
Rushmore.
