I'm tired of fighting the braided steel vale stems on my 05 Minnie. The clips that held them are long gone and it's too hard to hold the extended flexible stems and put air in. I saw these ridged extended stems and thought they might work. Of course I will have to dismount the tires to install. Anyone else have experience with something like this ?

Thanks,

Jack

That is  a pricey solution when you can get the Crossfire system as an alternative. http://www.midwayautosupply.com/detailedproductdescription.asp?9397

You don't have to dismount anything to install them. You have both duals interconnected, easy visual pressure check and one valve to air both tires.

I have had them for couple of years with no problems and know a lot more folks who are happy with the Crossfire system. There is a similar system called Cats Eye.

I like the looks fo the crossfire system, cheaper too !  It looks as if the line is just screwed onto the valve stems, is that right ?
I would have to remove the outer wheel just to have enough room to get my hand or fingers on the outer wheel valve stem though.

Thanks for the info !

Jack.

One of these solid chrome valve extensions may also work for you:  Solid Chrome Extensions

I use the braided steel flex extensions but made my own fixed mount for them from a piece of aluminum bar, which I then riveted to the wheel cover. No more flapping extensions an dmy Pressure Pro sensors are nicelysecure.

I personally don't like flexible extenders and use only solid extenders of the minimum length required, and those are only on the inside duals.  We had the Cats Eye system on the duals but after a few years the hoses started to deteriorate and I removed them and went back to the solid valve stems.
