We have just  concluded our Rocky Mountain Ramble  FMCA Rally in Gillette,  WY and are headed to Shawnee OK.  We  plan to share with you a few sights along the way.  Happily we have Ken and Sheila Kuch in tow to share our giggles and photos. Carhenge has been on Terry's bucket list for a few years.  Since he won't fly, Stonehenge in England is out of the question. Today we found Carhenge in Alliance, Nebraska. What a  part of Americana.  What a cultural art form!  What good company to share these sights.
The  50 and 60's  cars are a buried trunk first in the ground and  depict the exact dimensions of Stone henge in England. So can you tell what time it is or what season? Stay tuned. Photos to follow when  I  feel like it!

Betty:

Gillette to Shawnee for another area rally?

It is really is Terry's year to choose your destinations. ;D

Yep, it is his turn to plan what we do  and I'll have to admit that he finds wonderful places to visit that I wouldn't ever have considered.

The FMCA rally in Shawnee, OK  is  the South Central 6 state area FMCA  rally.  We find tours, vendors, seminars and friends along the way.  On the way to  this OK rally we will visit family in NE and KS.  When in OK  we will vist the Memorial to the Federal Building in  OK City.
We feel so  fortunate to have the flexibility to choose what we do.  We love the RV lifestyle!

Betty,

Since Terry won't fly to England, here's a photo of Stonehenge taken in '01.

Do I see a Gremlin on top ? What a neat looking place.

I guess if Terry won't fly, RVing New Zealand is out?

We enjoyed Homestead National Monument in Nebraska if you end up anywhere near it.

Happy Trails
Wendy

The Carhenge photos are interesting Keep the pictures an info coming really enjoy them

Well I'm sure many of you have missed us and my tardy posts on where we are!

We have traveled through Alliance,Ne with Carhenge as a highlight. Then we landed in Waco NE close by to York, Ne and met  Jeff and Sue and Ken and Sheila for a brief mini rally. Terry and I  met with  my relatives, Uncle  Virg  and his new bride Aunt Melba. We also visited Martha Grobe  who recently lost her husband  our good friend,  Clark.  NE looks so dry at this time of year  ( mid September 2012.)  While in Ne I visited our old farm and the cemetery where my  relatives are buried. Also  noted was  school where my mom was teacher and I was in Kindergarten. We landed in Topeka Ks this afternoon. We toured  The Great Overland Station this afternoon that depicted the historic Union Pacific Train Depot.  Our NE friends have apples from their trees and tomatoes from their gardens .Yum

The guys are sitting in the rocking chairs in front of Cracker Barrel.  Did you want to buy a rocking chair for $149.00 ? The vegetable lunch was so good!

I am enjoying your pictures but think that i would pass on the rocking chair. We stop at Cracker Barrel some times just to look around even if we don't allways eat.

Well we've managed our way through Kansas.  We stayed in Topeka for 3 nights  at Shawnee Lakes, a beautiful campground.  We visited Terry's 95 and 97 year old aunts.  We visited Truck henge in Topeka KS.  Not sure it needs to be on anyones bucket list but  we will likely never forget the is unique " attraction."  No photos as you just would not believe it.

Last night  we overnighted  in Firelake Casino outside Shawnee  and drove into the EXPO today for the FMCA Rally.  We have a  30 amp site close to all the venues.  Life is good

Ken drove Sheila and I to a local bakery/deli for  lunch today and we will  make a trip to Oklahoma City this afternoon to visit the  Memorial.
It is 88 degrees and very breezy!

If you haven't been to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, you should check it out.  It's about 20 miles from Lawton and depending on your route, might be a worthwhile stop.  A great park with an RV campground.  Full hookups if my memory serves me, and a couple of Buffalo roaming the sites.

Here are some pics from TruckHenge.......
