I have the Patriot Braking System made by Blue Ox which we use in our Jeep when we are towing it. It uses an electric motor to push on the brake pedal and the unit has a built-in battery. My question involves the battery itself - what type is it? The owner's manual says nothing about keeping it charged when the unit is unused for a few months at a time. There is a 12 VDC power cord which you plug in when you are going to use the unit, but what about when it is sitting in the shed for a few months?
