Last winter I had the pleasure of camping with my cousin and his wife at Goose Island SP, near Rockport, TX. A great thing about camping at TX state parks is that if the park is next to fish-able water, you can fish there for free- fishing rights are included in the park fee. They even have loaner fishing poles and tackle if you need it.

There's a long fishing pier next to the park, so cousin Ken and I walked to its end and casted out our bait-  I believe it was cut mullet.

We had a great time and each caught a black drum, each just over 30 pounds. It was one of the best times fishing I ever had.

OMg!! That sounds like a great time! I have to report this to my fishing fool husband! Truth be told I am no better ;) That is awesome that you get to fish along with the camp fee!
