We just bought the most basic membership to the Coast to Coast campground use that is sold at Camping World. Does anyone have experience with this program? If so, what do you think of it?

Turns out that we would not have used it. Although we were well within the time allotted by our state to renig on this sale, it took this company 4 weeks and many phone calls and emails for them to refund our money, which they finally did. I would say, stay clear of these folks.

There are two parts to a membership - you must be a member of a park that participates in the Coast-to-Coast (C2C) program and then pay the annual C2C dues as well. Sometimes the C2C dues are part of the campground membership fees. If you actually use the campground you join, and/or the other C2C campgrounds, it can be financially attractive, but you have to spend a fairly large amount of time camping within the system, each and every year. So basically, it's a matter of your choice and style of travel/camping.

As for buying through Camping World, it is likely to be the most expensive way to buy into a campground membership. There are numerous memberships available on the re-sale market at huge discounts, sold by people who have dropped out for whatever reason. Check out resales at sites such as RV Park Store. You should also consider a similar competitor called RPI (Resort Parks International) and another called ROD (Resorts of Distinction).

Last, be aware that the "home park" you choose might drop out of the C2C or RPI program at some time in the future. You would still own your membership in that one campground but would lose access to the C2C or RPI network. I know of a couple cases where that happened.
