well i decided i want some cool under lighting in my trailer and i like the simple wheel controller on the ikea dioder system.
With a few cheap parts from ebay you can easily change the system to run on its native 12v and run it self and an additional 5m of RBG 5050 tape.
im not going to go into crazy detail but i will answer any questions anyone has.
the system in a nutshell from ikea is
>a 120v to 12 power supply, which i cut off leaving me free to hook 12v up direct.
>the 4 dioder led pods, i used three beside the entry door, the 4th pod is cut off for the led signal
>5m roll of smd5050 rgb tape, easily available from ebay for about 20$

>the fourth led module cable consists of 4 wires this is cut in the middle to supply signal to the rgb amp.

the rgb amp and ikea connection box are installed close to the controller placement.
When i started my trailer re model i pulled in a run of cat6 cable in the ceiling, this is what i am running my signal on.
from the amp through the wire in the ceiling runs through to the space behind the microwave where i soldered the wires back onto the RGB cable to give me power for the strip about the counter.
This is what i currently have completed but im going to find somewhere to run the rest of the roll. perhaps a small piece of trim along the ceiling to give me a wash effect.
