Looking for some input, I've got a 1993 Dutchman class C with a Onan 4000 gen.
It recently started shutting down on it's own. I replaced fuel filter and made sure voltage was going to the Generator fuel pump. Got it to run for about 45 min then as soon as motorhome engine was started generator died as if it was starved of fuel ?? Have anyone experienced anything like this?

v/r,

Make sure you have enough gas in the main tank. Most fuel feeds on generators are located about 1/8th to 1/4 above the bottom of the tank. This is done to insure enough gas is left to get you to the next gas station. Or it could be an aftermarket genset install where the fuel feed is saimesed with the engine fuel pump. When you start the main engine, it could cause a vacuum in the fuel fed to the genset, starving it of gas.
