Storage issues
« on: May 12, 2013, 07:33:25 PM »
Here is a simple question..... is it better to store the rig with the slides out or retracted? We use the rig just about every other weekend at the moment (no, we are not fulltimers YET), and when we are working it is parked at a storage site near the house.

If parked at a storage site away from your residence where you can't easily keep an eye on it,  I would keep it closed up. That might deter curious visitors somewhat.

Most people, and Tiffin, recommend slides in when there is severe weather. This is especially true if you have slide toppers.  From an older post on the Tiffin site; during a severe weather alert while at Red Bay customers were advised to put ther jacks up as well. The poster did not say what the expected wind speeds were.
That makes sense to me. I store my MH with slides in, jacks up.
