After stopping at Inspiration Point and Sunset Point this afternoon, some of us are anxious to get down among the hoodoos.  After checking the weather, tomorrow (Friday) might be best for hiking.  We're thinking of a shorter hike tomorrow morning at 10:00.  We'll go down the Navajo Trail at Sunset Point and make the loop back up Queen's Garden trail.  The Navajo Trail is steeper which is why it's best to go down from the rim and then take the Queen's Garden trail which is easier for going back up to the rim.  Be prepared with water, lunch, and dress in layers to shed as it warms up.  We're guessing it will be less windy and warmer as we descend into the canyon, which by the way is sometimes called the amphitheater.

Because of limited parking it might be a good idea to double up.  Shall we plan to leave here at 10:00?  Who wants to go on this hike?  Jerry and Ardra will be happy to lead.

A great Happy Hour hosted by Jeff and Henry.  Vehicles pulled up to protect us from the wind and propane fire pits to warm our bones.  Good times!

Here are the photos Jerry took today from the various viewpoints.  The last one in this set is the Navajo Trail going down from Sunset Point.  This will be the start of tomorrow's hike.

Great looking pictures everyone.  Glad the weather didn't deter you from getting out and enjoying the fantastic scenery Bryce NP has to offer.  Bryce National Park is one of mine and Chrystal's favorite parks.  The colors are breathtaking especially when snow-capped.

Mike.

Sheila and I went out to hike the Navajo/Queens garden trail before the group - we like to hike early.
Nice cool day for a hike.

Great pictures Ken.  Early morning and cool is the best time to hike that.  We have done it twice now, once late March nice and cool and once mid-June hot as hell.  My choice would be nice and cool. ;D

The second group to the Navajo Trail consist on Margaret, Olga, Christi, Mary Ann ,Ardra, Jerry, Don, Jan, & Henry. A big thanks the Jerry and Ardra for leading us on the trail.

Nancy and I sure enjoyed meeting everyone.  What a great group of people.  Had a great time seeing the spectacular scenery and the wonderful fellowship at the Happy Hours.  Hopefully, we will see y'all down the road in the future.

Come back and join us for another rally!  We also enjoyed meeting you.

Just a heads up.  Bryce is under a winter weather advisory for tonight (Saturday) and for all day tomorrow.  Good luck and safe travels whatever day you leave here.

I will repeat what Dave said. Starting tonight there is a winter weather advisory. Accumulations 6 - 12 inches. High tomorrow here will be 38 with winds of 25 - 35 predicted.
I've done a lot a winter RV driving from our years in Vermont, but there it was out of necessity - here I can avoid it by leaving today.
So, we plan on leaving today and heading to Green River for tonight.

Moab's not looking so great the next couple of days. Everyone travel safe. And remember there will be a lot of idiots on the road who are excited that they made it out of the storm in Colorado.

It was like rats off a drowning ship this morning as all but Dean and Linda left Rubys to avoid the weather. We are 48 miles from Green River where fuel and Shady Ackers Rv Park will be on the agenda.  I'm loving the lower elevation and the flexibility to change plans with a weather forecast. Thank you to Rubys for refunding the last night less a $10 cancelation fee.

Plus we will have a much shorter drive in to Moab tomorrow .
