Thought I'd share this with my RV Fiends, it was shared on our  American Bulldog site today for a  member whose dog had reached his last day.  :'(
Dear Lord, please open your gates
and call St. Francis
to come escort this beloved companion
across the Rainbow Bridge.

Assign him to a place of honor,
for he has been a faithful servant
and has always done his best to please me.

Bless the hands that send him to you,
for they are doing so in love and compassion,
freeing his from pain and suffering.

Grant me the strength not to dwell on my loss.
Help me remember the details of his life
with the love he has shown me.
And grant me the courage to honor him
by sharing those memories with others.

Let him remember me as well
and let him know that I will always love him
And when it's my time to pass over into your paradise,
please allow him to accompany those
who will bring me home.

Thank you, Lord,
for the gift of his companionship
and for the time we've had together.

And thank you, Lord,
for granting me the strength
to give him to you now.

Amen.

Thank you. I'm typing with a tear in my eye. Off to give Gordon an extra hug.

Wendy, I've got a big lump in my throat to go with that tear.

That's the prayer I used when our beloved Apeo passed and I wanted to make a nice memorial photo.

When I could read it out loud without choking up, it was time for another furry kid.

...still miss that mutt.

That sure made the computer screen a little blurry, :'(  but thanks for the post.

That was a beautiful prayer? Thank you!  My screen seemed to get blurry too as I read it!

Quoting:  Help me remember the details of his life with the love he has shown me.  That line got me good!  Remembering Dusty and the details of *her* life with the love *she* has shown *us*.  What a dog she was!

Sitting here in my recliner with Ditto tucked in beside me like she always is.  Hope my DW doesn't come in for a while.  It might be difficult to explain the tears.

preyers for healing your broken hearts .So sad to loose such a great companion. So wonderful that a doggie is so loved! Wish all dogs could have an RV life!
