Read on another Forum where a member has covered the tin cover over his cooling coil with "Reflectix" foil insulation to help keep roof/sun heat off the cooling coil box and lower the temps inside the box. I looked at my units, Coleman Mach's, and did not see a feasible way to do it due to the design of the units. So while I don't have any data to support it, while I had the covers off (all 3 units) I painted them white. My line of thinking was that the covers being black would generate a significant amount of heat transferring it to the cooling coil housing. It took several cans of plastic specific type paint, but I like the looks of the 3 white covers over the black covers. So if it really doesn't make a difference OK.
